🌱 Hands-On Work
Clearing debris and overgrowth in the ʻauwai
Removing invasive species
Planting native plants or loi crops (like kalo/taro)
Maintaining walking paths or access points
Helping with loʻi (taro patch) restoration and maintenance
Water flow monitoring and adjustments
Assisting with cultural protocol during gatherings (e.g., hoʻokupu, oli)
Preparing food for workdays (lā hana) or events
Sharing moʻolelo (stories) or traditional knowledge
Leading presentations
Guest speaker at our monthly meetings (e.g. advocacy, history, traditional Hawaiian farming, etc.)
Teaching or assisting during field trips or school visits
Creating educational materials or signage
Leading tours or informational talks
Running social media accounts or newsletters
Taking photos or videos at events
Assisting with volunteer sign-in and coordination
Writing grants or helping with fundraising
Organizing supplies and tools
Translating materials into Hawaiian or other languages
